The Ash Manna
Manna is a processed sap of some peculiar species of Ash tree, the Fraxinux Ornus L and the Fraxinus Angustifolia Vahl. It is a pharmacologically active natural product, with several therapeutic properties known today. Currently, thanks to the constant scientific research activity carried out by various university departments at national and international level, further possible important applications in the clinical field are being investigated, which project the Ash Manna from a thousand-year-old and traditional past, towards an innovative and specialized future in the field of modern medicine.
A family tradition: between innovation and tradition
From the roots of two great stories, Mannaceutica was born.
A journey that began in 1828 in Genoa and in 1903 in Palermo, combining tradition and innovation of two entrepreneurial and industrial experiences, today passed down in our brands Mannite Dufour and Iuppa.
From the court of Louis XVI to the lands of Palermo, the story of an entrepreneurial legacy that spans centuries and nations. Dufour of Genoa was founded in 1828. The founder Laurent Dufour, born in Paris in 1763, an official at the court of Louis XVI, came to settle in Turin during the French Revolution as a member of the entourage of the Count of Artois, the future King Charles X. His son Lorenzo, who moved to Genoa, founded the historic Mannite factory in 1828. The Mannite branch of the Dufour Brothers was purchased by the Iuppa family in 1979.
The Mannite and Ash Manna-based products factory of the Iuppa family was founded in Sicily, in 1903, in the city of Palermo. It developed over the course of the last century, and merged with F.lli Dufour Mannite of Genoa in 1979.
Today Luigi Iuppa carries on the tradition of the two historic companies in the innovative project of Mannaceutica that combines past and future, innovation and tradition.
Dufour and Iuppa, two names that whisper family stories, like the wind that caresses the leaves of a centuries-old Ash tree. Between the folds of time, Manna becomes poetry, a precious gift, handed down with love and passion and which today represents innovation, research, unique therapeutic applications and scientific rigor.
